Faces have been tied to names either by knowing the actor, tying to appearances in several episodes, by pictures of actors available on the internet and by a process of elimination. Actors names on the credits have been corrected where it is known they were misspelt. In a number of episodes, there are far more credits than speaking parts and vice versa. Character names have been extracted from the show dialogues. As no lists have been published, spelling is open to interpretation. Episode names often differ in the opening titles and announcements in the media. Where a difference is known, the title on the footage is used.
Shorter episodes have been airing in Canada on BBC Kids two at a time with only one cast list at the end. That makes sorting out credits even more difficult. Minor cast locally recruited in South Africa (assumed mostly from the Cape Town area) and very little information is available outside the local media. Where cast has been deduced or in doubt, "?" attached. The main cast Stacey Cadman, Lucinda Rhodes-Flaherty, Jennifer Guy, Stephen Marcus, Gabrielle Downey, TJ Sorrell, Harry Capehorn, Paul Leyshon and Kenneth Collard are from the UK. Supporting cast are mostly South African. Many are active on the Cape Town theatre and entertainment scene. Members of the film crew seem to have appeared from time to time. Can we see your actors union cards please? Creator, director, writer Daniel Peacock appeared as Roast's Dad. The order of episodes is not very important but two milestones are Dad leaving and Chief taking over the tribe. Dad (Stephen Marcus) leaves at the start of Blood Ties. Dad does not appear (brief check only) in Big Strong Women, Friend or Foe, Minder, On the Move, Proud to Be Purple, Think Again. His abscence from an ep does not mean he was not around. He was definitely gone in On the Move. Chief (Kenneth Collard) first appeared in Game On when he and Babe won the tribe in a pigball bet. Trunk (Paul Leyshon) and the drummer (Jodi Balfour) did not appear in Season Two and Nettle (Tanya Baleson) had only two appearances. Please send any corrections or additions to: mail Starman* |
