NITPICKING & COMMENTS There are a few things to nitpick in the movie. My nitpicking and comments?The folk in the development department at Tide must be trying to figure out how Rae's white panties stayed so clean through most of the movie. Money to be made in that there detergent; When Rae dances barefoot at the juke joint, it's clear she's never danced at the "House of the Broken Bottle"; What happened to the crossroads? A central feature in many blues songs. Nearest we got was Tehronne dropping off Rae by the rail line. Son House was featured in a few places - a bit irrelevant and distracting in this movie however well-intentioned; Much has been hyped and unhyped about Jackson learning the guitar. It's not dificult to learn a chord progression in C nor play bottleneck in an open tuning. Between Jackson's efforts, the editing and the backup players, the results are seamless and believable. Better than some past and present blues artists. Good job. |
