First part of a two-part story. A new Betrayer is around, looking like one of Sarge's old acquaintances. After rumbling him, they come across a village where the folk are allowing themselves to be taken away by Baileys, believing they will go to the Mother Planet. In fact they will be used in a Betrayer factory. Sarge's naïve little sister Lily is next to go. They draw up a plan for Sarge to take her place. Lily chickens out at the last minute and shouts a warning to the Bailey. Cleopatra dashes to save Lily but too late - both get sucked up.
